Who we are looking for: ASCO's Information Technology Department is seeking a DevOps Intern to collaborate within a fast-paced, agile environment that utilizes Amazon Web Service, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure.

Internship activities include: - Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to develop and support developer environments
- Collaborate with department interns to further develop our environments
- Create documentation for all work
- Responsibly utilize AI in as many tasks as necessary to increase efficiency and decrease workload.
- Effectively communicate with developers and users when creating their environments to gather requirements
- Utilize security tools to meet compliance
Required qualifications: - Currently enrolled in an undergraduate BA/BS degree program, or graduate program, or recently graduated from a 4-year degree program. Candidates must be at least a junior or entering their junior year of college at the start of the internship.
- Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (365 preferred)
- Ability to responsibly and effectively adapt AI into daily routine
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code
- Familiarity with applications such as Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform
- Experience writing code
- Familiarity with version control and code repository tools
- Working knowledge of ticketing systems like Atlassian Jira or similar is a bonus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with flexibility to adapt to changing needs
- Solid organizational and time management skills and attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills and professionalism
- Willingness to enhance skills and learn from mistakes
Duration: 10 weeks during the summer - June 8, 2026 to August 14, 2026. This internship is 37.5 hours per week.
Compensation: This summer internship position is paid at a rate of $20/hour for actual hours worked. Additionally, ASCO will provide parking or a metro subsidy.
Location: This internship is based in Alexandria, VA and will require working onsite the majority of the time with some offsite work flexibility. Candidates should reside in the D.C. metro area or be able to relocate at their own expense. If you are not able to work at ASCO Headquarters, please do not apply.
