Marshfield Clinic – Marshfield Children’s is seeking a Medical Assistant (Non-Certified) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Ambulatory, to support pediatric providers in our outpatient clinics within a large, integrated health system. In this role, you will work closely with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, nurses, and other team members to deliver safe, family-centered care to infants, children, and adolescents across central and northern Wisconsin. Daily responsibilities include rooming pediatric patients, obtaining and documenting vital signs, patient histories, growth measurements, and screening questionnaires in the electronic health record. You will prepare patients for examinations and procedures, assist providers during visits, administer medications and immunizations under supervision and in accordance with clinic policy, perform basic laboratory tests and specimen collection, and support point-of-care testing. The Medical Assistant ensures exam rooms and equipment are clean, stocked, and prepared, follows infection prevention and safety protocols, and participates in quality and process improvement activities. This position involves frequent communication with families, including providing age-appropriate education, reinforcing care plans and discharge instructions, coordinating referrals, assisting with prior authorizations, and supporting scheduling and follow-up through the electronic health record and patient portal. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, accurate and timely documentation, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced ambulatory pediatric environment. You will collaborate within a multidisciplinary, patient-first culture that emphasizes compassion, integrity, and continuous improvement, and you will be supported with training, ongoing education, and opportunities for professional growth within pediatric healthcare. This position typically requires completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent healthcare training, with preference for candidates with pediatric experience or CMA credential. Clinical experience in an outpatient or ambulatory setting, familiarity with electronic health records, and current BLS certification are strongly preferred.
