Job Description

Summit Design + Build is growing in Chicago and is looking for experienced Project Engineer IIs . This role plays an important part in supporting projects and ongoing growth. You’ll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, contribute to a strong team, and continue developing your experience in a fast-paced environment.

What You Will Do:

As a Project Engineer II at Summit, you'll be responsible to:

  • Provide direct support to project management and field supervision staff from project inception to completion.
  • Perform thorough reviews to ensure all aspects are in line with project goals.
  • Develop bidders lists, manage subcontract scopes, and ensure timely execution of contracts.
  • Prepare cost estimates and manage project finances including budgets, cost tracking, and change orders.
  • Develop and maintain the overall project schedule, ensuring timely updates and adjustments as needed.
  • Manage critical documents like RFIs, submittals, and meeting minutes to keep the project on track.
  • Assist in ensuring all project aspects meet Summit’s rigorous standards for quality and safety.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of proven experience in commercial construction.
  • Strong decision-making abilities under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Committed to quality and excellence.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with experience in Procore, Bluebeam On Screen Takeoff, and Sage CRE 300 preferred.
