  • Confidential Real Estate Developer
  • Los Angeles, CA

Job Description

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Position Type: Full-Time

Experience: 0–2 Yr

Overview

A private Los Angeles–based real estate development firm is seeking a highly organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Real Estate Development Analyst to join its team.

The firm focuses on acquiring and controlling land, managing due diligence and the entitlement process, and ultimately delivering finished projects to homebuilders. The role provides direct involvement in the execution of development projects and requires managing a wide range of workstreams simultaneously.

This position is best suited for a candidate who is highly organized, capable of maintaining control over numerous moving pieces, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. As part of a small team, the analyst will work closely with principals and gain practical exposure to the full development process.

About the Firm

This confidential search is being conducted on behalf of a private real estate development firm based in Los Angeles.

The firm specializes in residential land development, including the acquisition and entitlement of projects ranging from small infill sites to larger subdivisions. The team works closely with municipalities, consultants, escrow and title parties, and other industry participants to advance projects from contract through diligence, entitlement, and execution.

As a growing firm, the team offers the opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility early and to develop a broad understanding of how projects are sourced, diligenced, structured, entitled, and executed.

Role Description

This is an execution-focused role centered on managing due diligence, entitlement coordination, and the day-to-day operational work required to keep multiple development projects moving.

The Real Estate Development Analyst will coordinate with cities, engineers, planners, consultants, escrow and title parties, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure that projects advance in an organized and timely manner. The role requires strong attention to detail, consistent follow-through, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent responsibilities.

This is not primarily a financial modeling role. While the position includes exposure to acquisitions, deal evaluation, and broader development strategy, its primary focus is execution. Over time, the analyst will develop a practical understanding of how value is created through diligence, entitlement, and development execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and track multiple active development projects from initial due diligence through entitlements
  • Maintain detailed due diligence checklists, project trackers, timelines, and status reports
  • Follow up consistently with consultants, vendors, title, escrow, municipal staff, and internal stakeholders to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met
  • Coordinate civil engineers, land planners, attorneys, consultants, and municipal staff throughout the diligence and entitlement process
  • Support entitlement submissions, including pre-applications, tentative maps, and related project documentation
  • Coordinate site visits, certificates of insurance, utility requests, title items, natural hazard reports, and related diligence materials
  • Track project costs, invoices, recurring payments, and deal-specific expenditures across active projects
  • Assist with purchase agreement administration, including deposit schedule tracking and execution support
  • Submit and track public records requests, utility information requests, and other diligence-related items
  • Coordinate notaries, signatures, memorandums, quitclaims, and recordation-related items with escrow and related parties
  • Schedule conference calls and meetings across multiple parties, circulate notes and action items, and ensure recordings are captured when needed
  • Support the preparation of internal materials, presentations, summaries, and project documentation
  • Identify potential issues or delays, work to resolve routine problems independently, and escalate only when appropriate

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 0–2 years of experience
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain accuracy under time constraints
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-directed, with the ability to take ownership of responsibilities
  • Strong follow-through and a high level of personal reliability
  • Good judgment and the ability to solve routine problems independently
  • Comfort working through detail-heavy, repetitive, and process-driven tasks with consistency
  • Strong academic record

Preferred (but not required):

  • Prior internship or work experience in real estate, construction, development, operations, project coordination, consulting support, or another detail-intensive role
  • Familiarity with Excel, Microsoft Office, and general document / task management workflows
  • Exposure to zoning, land use, title, escrow, or development-related processes

Compensation

  • Competitive base salary and performance-based bonus

Application Process

Interested applicants should submit:

  • Resume
  • GPA
  • SAT / ACT (or equivalent) scores
  • Salary expectations

A select group of candidates will be invited to interview.
